Here to lend a hand – and rock your Sox

Bobbie Sox cuts a familiar figure in the WA performance community, both on stage and behind the scenes.

He’s a man about town for sure.

Spotted his trademark suit, or beanie and converse in equal measure – Bobbie’s our go-to man for Festival time!

1.What’s happening for our Man about Town in PIBF in 2021? Something fun with Lumber Punks and Whipper Snapper?

Lumber Punks is my home away from home so I had to bring the PIBF family in for some throwing action…or should I say axe-tion haha!

The performers and volunteers joined us on the 17th to learn a new skill or just work out some frustration, then enjoy the wares of one of the best micro-distilleries in the country.

2. You were on the PIBF regional roadshow in 2020 & you’ll be hitting the road again this year, what are you looking forward to?

You never know what to expect from the roadshow. It’s always a memorable time for a while host of reasons.

Getting to spend time with different performers and volunteers who are all heavily involved in the burlesque community is the thing I look forward to the most.

However, seeing the excited faces of the crowd in these smaller towns that rarely get to see what we do is a close second.

3. Why is PIBF magical? What does it bring to the community?

The sense of community and belonging within PIBF is just incredible! Everyone is welcome whether it’s to perform, participate in some way, or even just to watch and soak in the performances. It brings everyone together.

4. What do you love about being part of the Perth arts community?

I’ve found some of the most amazing people within the Perth arts scene. Some of which I now consider family. You’re never far away from a great night out when you spend time with this bunch.

5. What tunes will be on your PIBF road trip playlist?

This is such a difficult question. I’ll definitely have to make a dedicated playlist but you can be sure it’ll include some songs by The Beards 😉
