Perth is having its very own International Burlesque Festival around the same timeframe as the rest of the states celebrating the Australian Burlesque Festival 2019. Between 24 to 27 October 2019, Tease Industries presents the 6th annual Burlesque Festival in Perth. There’ll be International and Australian burlesque, cabaret and variety performers heading to Perth and regional Western Australia.

For all your events and tickets, click HERE and HERE for your workshops. Individual workshops are $45 plus booking fee, or you could get an all workshops (3) package for $105 plus booking fee. Workshops will be held on Sunday 27 October 2019 at Freo.Social, Parry St, Fremantle.

Sweetpea from the USA will Work Your Woo from 11am to 12.30pm on the day, followed by Chris Oh! from Europe with Be the Pastie! from 1pm to 2.30pm. Jazida is all Silk Fans and Feather Fans from 2.30pm to 4pm.

As the title suggests, Work Your Woo will teach you stage presence and provide practical tools and exercises to cultivate it within oneself. That elusive stage presence is what helps you connect to the audience, so learn how to use that power on stage.

Be the Pastie will delve into the weird and wacky art of conceptual movement and personal dance vocabularies. You’ll be taught some methods on how you can create movement, meaning and choreography from intrinsic personal expression! Be prepared to feel awkward, aloof, challenged and excited.

Silk Fans and Feather Fans will explore single, double, open and closed fan work to help build strength in the core, wrists, arms, back; increase flexibility; and develop musicality. You will be using these props with showgirl style in no time at all! For full details of all workshops and instructors, head to the website.
